About the Project

Breaking Ground is a social initiative dedicated to equipping urban migrants from underserved communities in India with the knowledge and tools required to achieve financial independence. We intend to address this pressing need in a number of ways, beginning with the development of a foundational curriculum that breaks down difficult financial ideas into easy-to-understand concepts. Then, we will create an extensive Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) with structured lessons and captivating video resources that interested individuals with no prior knowledge of the fundamentals of financial literacy can finish at their own pace. In addition, we intend to arrange one-on-one conversations on mastering the fundamentals of financial literacy, along with collecting funds to hire a dedicated financial advisor on a monthly basis, and offer meaningful economic advice to migrants. 

One step at a time, Breaking Ground will actively seek to remove the obstacles to financial literacy through these methodical interventions, holding the hands of migrant workers to help them break free from never-ending cycles of exploitation.
